About this Property

  • 2 Bedrooms
  • 2 Bathrooms
  • Condo
  • Approximately 644 square feet

Welcome to 40 Bee! We are located in the Cannonborough Elliottborough neighborhood of the downtown district across the street from MUSC, making this the prime location for students and medical professions. Whether you are traveling for business or enjoyment, looking to marvel in the historic appeal of Charleston or bury your feet in the sand at the local beaches, our comfortable 644sqft condo is most suitable for no more than two adults and we are centrally located to everything you will want to see or do while visiting Charleston. **********One pet is allowed and must be pre approved, non aggressive and a modest breed under 35 pounds per HOA policies*********
Our complex is just across the street from the Medical University of South Carolina and a short distance from the College of Charleston and Citadel. And while you can walk nearly anywhere and savor the handsome streets of Charleston, there are also a variety of ubers, bicycle taxis and buses that can get you down to King Street for a day of shopping and dining or to the Battery, White Point Garden and Charleston Waterfront Park.

For those who are looking to spend some time on the water, Folly Beach is just 10 miles away or 15 miles in the other direction is the Isle of Palms. Shem Creek in Mt. Pleasant is also within a 10 min. drive and full of activity whether you stop in at one of the local eateries/bars or just want to walk the boardwalk and catch a glimpse of dolphins and shrimp boats coming in from a long day of catching. A Shem Creek sunset should not be missed! Fort Sumter, Patriot's Point and the South Carolina Aquarium are close by as well!

If time doesn't allow for you to tread too far from the condo, walk across the street to the urban garden where you can relax on a bench and appreciate the charming flowers and plants. A short little walk at nighttime with the glowing led lights hanging from the sizable oak trees is a great way to relax for the evening.

Our unit is located on the top floor of the building which is the 4th floor and there is an elevator if you don't feel like going up the steps. The entire condo has been freshly refreshed with fresh paint and wood floor throughout, resurfaced ceilings and granite countertops. The main bathroom has a new bath/shower combo with granite tile and the second bathroom shower has been updated with ceramic tile!

A washer/dryer combo is available for our guests to use in the condo. *Please be aware that while this appliance was just purchased, it is a very modest washer/dryer combo and does take time to complete a cycle so if you have a lot of laundry or bigger items to wash, there is a laundry room on the ground floor of the property that has instructions for use and payment.

There is a starter set of supplies including toilet paper, dishwasher tablets, laundry detergent, trash bags, coffee with creamers and tea to get your stay started. Please bring more supplies along with your personal hygiene products such as shampoo and conditioner as those are not supplied.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to being right across the street from the hospital, there may be noise at different hours of the day on occassion from sirens and the emergency helicopter on occasion. We also suggest you get a P.O. Box if you will need to receive mail as our complex only uses locked mailboxes for long term tenants.

One parking spot is available during your stay and there will be a parking pass for you on the tray underneath the TV once you arrive. This pass MUST be displayed hanging from the rearview mirror of your car during the entire length of your stay. If you do not display a pass you will be towed and fined at your own expense.

***PLEASE RETURN THE PARKING PASS TO THE CONDO BEFORE YOU LEAVE AS OUR NEXT GUESTS WILL NEED IT. IF THE PASS IS LOST OR NOT RETURNED YOU WILL BE CHARGED $150, THE PRICE OF GETTING A NEW PARKING PASS***

How to get the best rental value:

  • To find the best rental for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Charleston area attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • In the Charleston area area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Property managers frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area visitor guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to pick the perfect vacation rental in the Charleston area area:

  • Choose your vacation week and budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Available for spring bookings! Close to MUSC, CofC, free parking, walk anywhere! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking pages. If not, email the property management company before you book the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. More tips for your stay:

  • Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Document any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if a dispute is filed.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • Just before checking out, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a excellent stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
