Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Charleston area vacation property experience:

Getting the best value:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To book the most suitable rental for your budget, we recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Often, management companies supply Charleston area area visitor guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Choosing the perfect vacation home in the Charleston area area:

  • Select a group lead, select your dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Private, Serene, Close to Everything Apartment in Charleston. has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before booking the vacation home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what configuration is best for your vacation family.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

Know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Record any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great reviews to compel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
