Tricks and tips to get the perfect Charleston area vacation home experience:
Finding the best rental value:
- In the Charleston area area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- To get the best value, change your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area travel guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Selecting and booking the right Charleston area vacation home:
- Select your vacation dates and spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Sweet Couples Retreat at The Vesper Suite has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.

- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- Does your family require unique amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
Know before you go:
- Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many issues.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
- During check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on good feedback to compel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
