  • Booking websites often offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Charleston area visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain money saving offers on local tours and attractions.

Finding the best rental home in the Charleston area area:

  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. The Lodge Alley Inn™ - 1 Bedroom has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before booking the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
  • If there's an individual Charleston area attraction you are crazy about, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • If your group is traveling with pets, search for a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
  • To make certain damages aren't linked to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the property manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on good feedback to stimulate future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
