Booking the best Charleston area rental experience:

Get the best rental value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Charleston. To get the most suitable rental for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Charleston area restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • In the Charleston area area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Some owners offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local Charleston area area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Planning and picking a perfectrental home:

  • Choose your vacation dates and spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Chic Historic Victorian Duplex 2 Blocks To King has 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available online. If they are not listed, email the host before you reserve the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Is your group looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs might be applied to your invoice.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • During arrival, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a excellent time? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
