This historic modernized Freedman's Cottage is ideal for anyone! This home features exposed brick, heart pine floor, and historic tongue & groove boards. The historic charm blends seamlessly with the entirely equipped modern kitchen and refreshed bathrooms. Once you step inside from full porch you will be in the open floor plan living space. The living space has two sets of French Doors that allow tons of natural light.

There is a bedroom on the lower level and the upper level. Each bedroom has comfortable beds, en suite full bathrooms, and windows for natural light. The primary bedroom upstairs has ample storage space and a double sink vanity in the bathroom.

Charleston does have rather a few bugs, we have a professional pest control company service the home every month. Every effort is made to present a clean home at Check-In. To minimize the impact of bugs on your vacation, keep doors/windows closed, food wrapped and store it in the refrigerator.

  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental while you're out. Keep your property safe!
  • At departure, take a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to propel more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
