Tricks and tips to get the very best vacation rental experience:

Getting the most from your rental budget:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Book your rental property in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Charleston area visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides contain money saving offers on nearby shops and restaurants.

Narrow your Search:

  • Start by having your group decide on dates and a spending budget.
  • Blocks from King has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before you reserve your home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
  • If there's a particular Charleston area attraction you long to visit, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental

More considerations for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your .
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
  • To make certain that no damages are attributed to your stay, record any problem areas during arrival. text the property manager right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a excellent stay? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
