This is a pet friendly, comfortable and cozy bungalow on James Island that is just 5 miles from historic and breathtaking downtown Charleston and only 6 miles to Folly Beach. Spend time in this fabulous city in a place that feels like home. The bungalow includes full kitchen, washer and dryer, Wi-Fi, entirely fenced back yard, and covered parking w/ a elegant concrete coating. Driveway will conveniently accommodate 4 cars or there is room to park a boat trailer should you decide to bring your own boat. We know your family pets are a part of your family, they are welcome at Palm Key! There is a $85 per pet fee(max 3 pets).

This is an older home modernized to include granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, tankless water heater, crown moldings, and wood floors. The kitchen and dining room area is open to the living room as well. It has 2 bedrooms, 1 1/2 bathrooms and is filled with coastal appeal. Intelligent TVs with Netflix and local channels are included in the living room and both bedrooms. You can also log into other streaming services with your own account if you'd like.
The home is thoughtfully prepared for your arrival with flatware, knives, cookware, coffee maker (pot/ pod) & toaster all made by Cuisinart and were all purchased new exclusively for this vacation home. Tea, coffee, creamer, sugar are all supplied as well as a waffle iron, towels, bed linens, hair dryer, iron, and ironing board. We recycle! You will find a blue recycle bin in the laundry room between the washer and dryer.

The value of this home is striking and the location is spectacular. If you would like to appreciate a day on the beach and a nighttime on the town with a group of friends or family, then this is the home for you!! Feel complimentary to reach out with any questions you may have.

Full kitchen, laundry, living room, two bed rooms, full bath off of the hall and a half bath in the master, front yard and backyard that is full fenced with a privacy fence. There is a gas fire pit surrounded by 4 Adirondack chairs as well.

This is a duplex style bungalow with an attached Mother-In-Law suite where we reside. While we live on the property, there are no shared spaces with us. The home is yours to savor privately, including full use of the backyard. If you would like to meet up with us or have us walk you through the property, just shoot us a message!

We highly recommend the purchase of a travel insurance policy due to the fact that our area is in a hurricane prone region of the country. As a reminder we are pet friendly!($85 per pet, max of 3)

Tips and Tricks to get the best Charleston area vacation rental experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To find the best value, try shifting your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
  • The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Charleston area visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides have offers and deals for local tours and attractions.

Make a plan and choose the bestvacation home:

  • Choose vacation week and max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Palm Key - A Cozy Coastal Cottage has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible online. If not, call the property manager before booking the home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • If there's a specific Charleston area beach you long to visit, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs might be applied to your invoice.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the host immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
  • Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a excellent stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
