Tricks and tips to get the perfect vacation rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- In the Charleston area area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Isle of Palms. Booking your Charleston area vacation rental in the Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Many rental management companies supply Charleston area area travel guides which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Make a plan and choose the perfect Charleston area rental:
- Select vacation dates and max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. OCEANFRONT Wild Dunes- Perfect for Relaxing w\/ the Ocean Breeze has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Charleston area rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before reserving the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.
- Does your group require unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
Considerations for your stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of concerns.
- Lock your rental while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- To make sure damages are not attributed to your stay, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. message the host right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on good reviews to propel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
