Charleston area vacation rental booking tips:
When to visit Isle of Palms & When to reserve a Isle of Palms rental home:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Charleston area area. Book your rental property in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Charleston area visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have money saving offers on local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Make a plan and pick the rightvacation home:
- Begin by choosing a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. OCEANFRONT Wild Dunes- Perfect for Relaxing w\/ the Ocean Breeze has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking websites. If not, contact the property manager before booking the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine which bed configuration is optimal for your group.
- If there's a certain Charleston area destination you love, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or charges applied to your invoice.
Advice for a smooth stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
- Document any damages to the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to propel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
