Money saving strategies:
- In the Charleston area area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Booking in Spring or Fall is a good way to save on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Some owners offer discounts for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.

Narrow your rental Search:
- First and foremost, have your family decide on trip dates and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Oceanfront Villa in Wild Dunes w\/2 Master Suites & Community Pool! Great Views! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the host before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a specific Charleston area destination you simply love, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
More considerations for your visit:

- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few issues.
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
- Record any issues with the property during check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if damages are assessed.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a terrific time? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
