Things to know prior to booking your stay:
• The Sea Cabin buildings do not have an elevator. Stairs are used to access all units, including some stairs to the 1st floor.
• Full Disclosure: There are modest bunk beds constructed into the hallway – they are adored by kids. They're also a great place to use for additional storage if not being used for sleeping! They measure 24”x72.5” compared to standard twin size of 38”x75”.
• All units are 490 sq. ft. – they most comfortably accommodate 2 adult guests with smaller kids. But while they are smaller, they are still 2x the size of most hotel rooms and include a completely functional kitchen!
• Please carefully review all photos including the aerial photo that shows the layout of the condo complex to get an idea of where you'll be staying.
• Washers and Dryers are located next to the pool on the oceanfront; they are coin operated or download an app to pay!
• Parking notes: Each unit is given 1 parking pass.
• The community pool is not heated and is usually open year round.
• No smoking. A $500 dollar fine will be issued in order to professionally get rid of the odor.
• No family pets on site per condo regime and condo owner. No exception unless ADA documentation is supplied prior to your arrival. A $500 dollar fine will be issued if pet(s) are found on site without proper documentation.
• This property is managed by Carroll Realty, located on the island just 1.5 miles from the condo should you need anything during your stay!
Enter the condo to find a hallway with two convenient modest constructed-in bunk beds—a intelligent solution if you need more sleeping space, and they're a hit with kids! Continue on past the full bathroom, which offers a shower-tub combo and a beachy vibe with sea-foam green walls. Walk further down the hallway, and you'll come across the main open concept kitchen and living area.
The kitchen is entirely equipped, so grab your favorite fresh fruit from a local market and all the ingredients for you need to make your own bespoke creations and recipes. A blue-tiled backsplash adds a pop of color to the space, and a modest center island provides additional counter space, as well as a place to dine with two bar stools. Booking the best Charleston area vacation rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To get the best value, consider changing your family's Charleston area vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local Charleston area area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have coupons for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Choosing the perfect vacation rental:
- Choose your vacation dates and budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. 2023 Updates! 3rd Floor Condo w\/Amazing Ocean View! Pool & Pier Access! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before you reserve the rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your vacation group.
- Is your family looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Document any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected everything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
