Strategies to get the perfect Charleston area vacation property experience:
Finding the best value:
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is high season in the Charleston area area. To find the best value, shift your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Charleston area visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain coupons for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Finding the perfect vacation rental in Isle of Palms:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Cute Family Beach Home in Wild Dunes Resort; Close to the Beach w\/Porch Swing & Community Pool! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before reserving the property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.
- If there's an individual Charleston area attraction you crave, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Additional considerations:
- Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of problems.
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, note any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
