How to book the best Sullivans Island rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To find the most suitable rental home within budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Charleston area attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have money saving offers on local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Planning and picking yourvacation home:
- Select your vacation dates and budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Sullivans Island Luxury 30 Day rental, Pool, Hot Tub, & Rooftop deck - 1502 Poe Ave has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is optimal for your trip.
- Looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- If your family is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.
Tips to have a smooth stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Upon check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many concerns.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
- Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
