Vacation rental tips and tricks:
Finding the best rental value:
- In the Charleston area area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- June, July, and August are high season in Sullivans Island. To book the best vacation home within your budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Charleston area attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- Some hosts offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property managers often offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies supply Charleston area area visitors guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning and choosing the best Charleston area rental home:
- Start by selecting a vacation week and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Sullivans Island Luxury 30 Day rental, Pool, Hot Tub, & Rooftop deck - 1502 Poe Ave has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before booking your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
Tips for your stay:
- Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of issues.
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Make a record of any issues with the property during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent source for finding the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on great ratings to stimulate more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
