Finding the best Charleston area vacation property experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Isle of Palms. Reserve your vacation in the Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- In the Charleston area area, The sooner your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Look for your local Charleston area visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Finding the best vacation home in the Charleston area area:
- To start, have your family select a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. 303A Shipwatch by AvantStay
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible online. If not, email or call the property manager before you book your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- If there's a particular Charleston area beach you love, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your . We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain that no damages are attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. text the host right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of issues.
- Be respectful. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
- Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on great feedback to propel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
