Tips and Tricks to get the best Charleston area vacation home experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- In the Charleston area area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- To find the best value, consider changing your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
- Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local Charleston area visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
How to choose the perfect vacation rental in Isle of Palms:
- Choose your vacation dates and spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration you need. IDEAL IOP Beach Home, 6 BR, Private Pool, Close to Beach, Spacious! has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If not, call the property manager before reserving your rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
- Does your family require unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
Have a fantastic stay:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of issues.
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- Note any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if damages are assessed.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
