How to book the best Charleston area vacation property experience:
Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Isle of Palms. Reserve your Charleston area vacation home in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Some owners offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Charleston area visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides have coupons for local accommodations and attractions.
Planning and picking your prefectvacation home:
- Start by choosing your the best vacation week and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. IDEAL IOP Beach Home, 6 BR, Private Pool, Close to Beach, Spacious! has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before booking the rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your trip.
- Does your group require unique amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
- Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- During arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your life at home. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to propel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
