How to find the best Charleston rental experience:

How to get the best value:

  • To get the most suitable rental within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property managers often offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Choosing and booking your prefectrental home:

  • First and foremost, have your group choose a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Modern Townhome close to Folly Beach and dwntn Charleston! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before booking the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Does your group require particular amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

Advice for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
  • Upon check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • At departure, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
