Charleston area vacation rental booking tips:

Finding the best rental home value:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • To get the best value, consider changing your family's Charleston area trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, , and reduced traffic.
  • Some property managers offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Charleston area visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

How to choose and book the bestrental home:

  • Begin by selecting trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. 120 Seascape Villas - Newly Renovated - Updated Pictures Soon has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your family.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Is your family looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

Additional considerations:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
  • To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the rental manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a fantastic vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
