How to book the best Charleston area vacation rental experience:
Sticking to your spending plan:
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- To get the best value, try shifting your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, , and reduced traffic.
- Some property management companies offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have offers and deals for local shops and restaurants.
Filter your search:
- Start by choosing your trip dates and a maximum budget.
- 3 Blocks to King! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.

- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
Advice for your stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your stay, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the property manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great feedback to stimulate more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
