Reader's Note: You have to stay with me on this. The following description contains a lot of truthful snark, so don't be put off by it.
This Condomium, APT C is "fresh" to the market. It is on the second floor of a 120-year-old former Charleston single home that has been architecturally restored and maintained by the owner-manager, a Charleston native. A minimum 30-day lease must be signed. Options to extend the lease may be considered and will depend on circumstances and availability. You are NOT required to be in residence during your lease time.
From 82 Rutledge Avenue, you can walk to the Medical, Business, and other Historic Districts. The College of Charleston is less than a 10-min. walk. Within a 2-—to 3-block area, there are friendly, untouristed neighborhood eateries.
The property has a curated garden and an old English brick patio for your enjoyment.
Parking is available in the back lot, on the street, and in close by tons. It is supplied. Since this is Charleston, on-property parking cannot accommodate huge SUVs such as Yukons, Escalades, or F-150s. Please contact us to determine your parking needs if you plan to bring a car. Charleston streets were designed for horses and carriages, not armored personnel carriers. Parking is problematic in Charleston; I did not create it.
The resident manager is on-site and provides you with biased and jaundiced site-seeing, touring, and dining recommendations to further enhance your stay.
Apt C has been entirely restored to keep its legacy features but has had significant modern upgrades, which will be detailed below. The porch, old English brick patio, and expertly curated gardens are for your enjoyment.
As mentioned earlier, APT C is on the 2nd floor of the main building at 82 Rutledge Avenue. There are 2 separate stairs. The spiral staircase leads to the 2nd-floor porch with a door to the living room. The second leads from the street through the side garden to an exterior landing with a security door. Upon entry from the security door, there is a set of stairs with an intervening landing, which leads to the hallway door of Apt C. The stairs are safe but not necessarily ADA-compliant. There is no elevator. Luggage assistance is available.
The entire unit has refinished wood floors, adjustable ceiling fans, adjustable LEDs,
calm colors, period piece furnishings, double pane.
The master bedroom with a king-size bed is gorgeous and appointed with a chest of drawers end tables, and a writing desk. The windows allow the room to be filled with light, and the black-out drapes assure a good nighttime's sleep. All windows are double-paned. An adjacent closet room with hang-up closets, bespoke-constructed cabinetry for clothes, and room for suitcases storage.
The living room has comfortable period pieces that are well illustrated in the photographs. There is TV with cable access. Complementary 5G Wi-Fi is located throughout the unit, and USB jacks are also supplied. The bathroom has Carrera tile, a shower tub, and all amenities. The water pressure is superb. The TV is not significant. However, the TV is intelligent and connected. You will be basically on your own to navigate, 'cause I ain't crapping w/it." There is 5g complimentary secure wifi to "stream" to your heart's content. You are in Charleston, so you can pass up on ESPN, HGTV, MSNBC, FOX, etc.
The kitchen has been bespoke-constructed. All appliances are new. There is a washer and dryer in this area. There is a bespoke-constructed mahogany table in the kitchen area. The kitchen is completely outfitted. and ready for you to prepare any meal you wish.
Everything in the kitchen is bespoke-constructed.
If you are serious about leasing the unit for Spoleto or anything else, it is necessary to contact me first.

Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Charleston area vacation rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- To find the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers often offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have coupons for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Choose your dates and maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. HISTORIC DISTRICT-HarlestonVillage_SPOLETO SPECIAL- Condo-Easy Walk -30 Day Min has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Charleston area rental home search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the host before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's a particular Charleston area destination you are crazy about, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your family is bringing pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Additional considerations:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your . Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- Record any issues with the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all belongings. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a fantastic time? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
