How to book the best Charleston area rental home experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- Summer months are high season in Charleston. Book your Charleston area rental property in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, management companies supply Charleston area area visitor guides which will include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing the perfect vacation home:
- To start, have your group choose dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. King 583 - Charleston - Studio Deluxe has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before you book your home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what is optimal for your family.
- Does your group require specific amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or charges applied to your agreement.
More considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- To make certain damages are not linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the host immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few issues.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great ratings to propel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
