Charleston rental booking tips:
Sticking to a spending plan:
- The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- To find the best value, consider shifting your vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area visitors guide magazines which include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning, picking, and booking a perfect Charleston area rental home:
- First and foremost, have your family choose a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. Beautiful Ground Floor Condo Just 1 Block to King has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before you book the home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a particular Charleston area beach you crave, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
Have a wonderful stay:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
- Upon check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- At departure, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on good ratings to drive new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
