Strategies to get the perfect rental home experience:

Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • In the Charleston area area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Summer time is high season in the Charleston area area. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is a great way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes.
  • Some property managers offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers frequently offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area visitor guide magazines that include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Make a plan and choose the perfect Charleston area vacation home:

  • Select vacation week and max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Club Ed Charleston has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before reserving your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what is best for your vacation.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • If there's a particular Charleston area beach you are crazy about, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

Tips for your stay:

  • Store the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of problems.
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
  • To make sure that no damages are linked to your stay, note any problem areas during check in. message the host right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a fantastic vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
