Tricks and tips to get the best Charleston vacation rental experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Summertime is high season in Charleston. Book your rental property in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area visitors guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
