Finding the best Charleston rental home experience:
Finding the best rental value:
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Summer months are high season in Charleston. Book your rental property in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area travel guide magazines that include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Choosing and booking the perfectrental:
- Choose your dates and spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Charleston Charm - 3 Bedroom - 2 Blocks to King St has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property management company before you reserve the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs applied to your contract.
- If there's a particular Charleston area destination you are enamored with, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
Know before you go:
- Add the owner's information to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your stay, note any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the property manager right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to inspire new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
