Tips for getting the best Charleston area vacation property experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Isle of Palms rental home:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Isle of Palms. Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties.
- In the Charleston area area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Hosts sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Many property management companies supply Charleston area area visitor guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning and choosing the bestrental:
- Select your vacation dates and budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Great FAMILY home in Wild Dunes, Pond View!, Modern, Minutes to Beach, Golf Cart for Rent! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before you book your home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine which bed configuration is optimal for your family.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas during check in. Contact the rental manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific resource to find the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
