Booking the best Charleston area rental home experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • To get the best value, try changing your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Charleston area area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have deals for nearby tours and attractions.

Planning and picking the perfect Charleston area rental home:

  • Select your vacation dates and budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. Angel Oak Suite - King St \/ MUSC has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before reserving the home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or charges applied to your invoice.

Tips to have a wonderful stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • To make sure that damages are not attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas during check in. Call the property manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
  • On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on great feedback to propel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
