Our top Rental property booking tips:
Money saving strategies:
- To get the best value, try shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain money saving offers on local shops and restaurants.
How to pick the perfect rental in Charleston:
- Begin by selecting the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. 3 Bedroom - Newly Renovated - Close to King Street has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the host before reserving your home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
More tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. message the rental manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a great stay? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
