How to find the best Isle of Palms vacation home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Summer months are high season in the Charleston area area. To get the best value, try changing your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Some property managers offer promotional rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, management companies supply Charleston area area visitors guides which include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing and booking your Charleston area rental home:
- Select a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
- Easy Beach Access has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Charleston area rental home search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before booking the home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or applied to your contract.
More considerations:
- Get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your . Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to inspire new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation home.
