Tips and Tricks to get the best Isle of Palms vacation property experience:

Sticking to your spending plan:

  • Summer is high season in the Charleston area area. To find the best vacation home for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
  • In the Charleston area area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Booking websites often offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area visitor guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Selecting the best vacation home in Isle of Palms:

  • Start by choosing the best vacation week and a max budget.
  • Beautiful Home w\/ Deck, Walk to the Beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible online. Otherwise, contact the property owner before you book your home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
  • If there's a certain Charleston area attraction you love, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, make note of any problem areas during check in. Make contact with the property manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a terrific time? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
