Tips to get the best Charleston area vacation rental experience:
Getting the most from your spending budget:
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Charleston. To book the most suitable rental within budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many rental management companies supply Charleston area area visitors guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Selecting the best vacation rental in Charleston:
- First and foremost, have your family agree to dates and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Serene Location - Next to Hampton Park: Haven Home has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before you book your home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a certain Charleston area attraction you are crazy about, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
More tips for your visit:
- Add the host's information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of issues.
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. text the rental manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a terrific vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
