Finding the best Isle of Palms vacation rental experience:
Get the most from your vacation rental budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Charleston area area. To find the best value, try shifting your family's Charleston area vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, , and reduced traffic.
- In the Charleston area area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Look for your local Charleston area area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guides have money saving offers on local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Choose vacation week and max budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. Panoramic Marsh View, Private w\/ screened porch & rooftop - 33 Marsh Island has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking pages. If not, call the property owner before booking the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or costs could be applied to your agreement.
More considerations for your visit:
- Get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. text the host right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few problems.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible source for finding the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
- At departure, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a wonderful stay? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
