How to find the best Charleston rental experience:
Find your best deal:
- The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Charleston area area. Book your vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides have coupons for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to pick the best vacation rental in Charleston:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and select a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. ON MARKET STREET - EXCEPTIONAL LOCATION IN THE HEART OF HISTORIC DOWNTOWN! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the host before booking your rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges applied to your agreement.
- If there's an individual Charleston area destination you are crazy about, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of problems.
- Lock your rental while you are away. Protect your property!
- To make certain that damages are not linked to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the host right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be respectful. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
