Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Charleston area vacation rental experience:
Getting the most from your budget:
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Summer is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To find the most suitable rental for your budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- Some owners offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many management companies supply Charleston area area visitor guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Choosing the best rental home in the Charleston area area:
- First and foremost, have your family choose vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. King 583, South Carolina, 1 Bedroom Standard has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
- If your group is bringing pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
Know before you go:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your . Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of issues.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- To make certain that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. message the property manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
