Booking the best Charleston vacation home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Charleston area area. Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring is a great way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area travel guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Finding the best rental in Charleston:
- Choose a group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. Private & Peaceful Downtown Apartment has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Charleston area vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property management company before you book the property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking
More tips for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- To make certain that damages are not linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. message the property manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good feedback to compel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
