Tips to get the best rental home experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Summer is high season in the Charleston area area. Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local Charleston area visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Make a plan and pick a perfectvacation home:

  • Begin by choosing your a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Cozy 1-bedroom Guesthouse with WiFi\/AC near Downtown Charleston has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the host before booking the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what configuration is optimal for your trip.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs may be applied to your contract.
  • If there's an individual Charleston area destination you long to visit, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .

More tips for your visit:

  • Store the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Protect your property!
  • To make sure damages are not attributed to your family's stay, record any problem areas during check in. Contact the rental manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
