Strategies for getting the best Isle of Palms rental home experience:

When to book a Charleston area rental home & When to go:

  • Reserve your Charleston area rental in the Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area visitor guide magazines which include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Choosing and booking the best Charleston area rental:

  • Choose a group leader, select your dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. 1st floor, screen porch w\/ steps to the Beach & Pool! - 103G Port O Call has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property owner before reserving the rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what is best for your group.
  • If there's a specific Charleston area destination you are enamored with, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Document any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of concerns.
  • Respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a fantastic time? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
