How to find the best Charleston vacation property experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- In the Charleston area area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- To find the best value, shift your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many rental management companies supply Charleston area area visitors guide magazines which include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Begin by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Charming Condo - 1 Block to King! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property owner before you book the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or could be applied to your invoice.
- If there's a specific Charleston area attraction you are crazy about, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Add the owner's contact info to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Document any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to inspire future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
